Howard Program requirements

One of the main goals of the Programming phase is to determine how many spaces will be needed, and what their functions ought to be. Over the course of several weeks, the design committee of Howard's principal, teachers, and administrators worked with the Architects to think through each type of activity the new school would need to support the educational mission. Then spaces were assigned to accommodate these activities - classrooms for teaching, cafeteria for eating, gymnasium and play areas for exercise, and so on.
